OIV downloads allow you to handle Stamped Mail within your PC based email client. Without OIV software, you receive Stamped email normally. The Stamped Mail appears as an envelope in your Inbox.. When you open the envelope, the body of the email appears in a browser window. Also, you must use the OIV website to send Stamped Mail.

With OIV software, you compose mail on your PC email client, then you can choose to send it normally or as Stamped Mail. When you receive Stamped Mail, it first appears as an envelope in your Inbox. After you open the envelope, the body of the email now replaces the envelope, still in your Inbox.

OIV software works only for POP based email accounts - where you receive email on your computer, not for web based email services such as Yahoo, Hotmail or GMail. Currently OIV software works only for Windows 2000 and XP. For web based accounts and users of Linux and MacOS, you must use Stamped Mail without these downloads. Future releases will support Linux and MacOS, and we are working to get web based email services to integrate our features in their websites.

There are three downloads currently available: OIV Mailer which is a free standalone email client and plug-ins for Microsoft Outlook Express and Microsoft Outlook (a plug in for Thunderbird is in the works).

If you currently use Outlook Express or Outlook, download the appropriate plug-in and you can have Stamped Mail features with little effort.

If you use a different POP email client, download Mailer. You will configure Mailer to use your POP account. If you like it, you will use it to replace your current email client. Before you make that decision, you can run both. (If you run both, be sure to configure both to leave mail on the server. Otherwise, emails taken by one client will not be available on the other.)

Currently, the Clean Inbox feature is available in Mailer but not in the Outlook plug-ins.

Please keep in mind that we are still improving these applications. They are fully functional, but more features will be added to make them fully convenient. Be aware that we are committed to making Stamped Mail effortless.
